What are the Requirements in WA for Exit Lighting in Buildings?
The laws state buildings require emergency exit lighting.
In some cases, emergency exit lighting isn’t required based on the room’s size. If the room is less than 300 metres squared, it may not require emergency lighting.
Any room that doesn’t open into sufficient natural light needs an emergency exit light. This means any room that doesn’t open to the outside world will generally require some form of emergency lighting.
Along with this, any hallway that has a gap of 6 metres squared between one door and the next requires lighting.
